A 16-year-old boy has died and four others have been injured, two critically, in a traffic crash north of Brisbane during a horror week on Queensland roads.
Police said initial inquiries suggested their car lost control and struck a power pole on Anzac Avenue, Rothwell, just before 3:00pm.
The front passenger died at the scene.

Four other people in the car, including teenagers and children, were taken to hospital, two with critical injuries.
A second car can be seen crashed into the curb.
Paramedics said five other people were assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require further treatment.

Kumbia community hit by second fatal crash in 48 hours
In a separate incident, police are investigating a fatal crash at Kumbia, near Kingaroy.
A 62-year-old man died after his ute collided with a prime mover towing a trailer at Reedy Creek Road around midday on Wednesday.

The ABC understands the man’s wife witnessed the crash from another vehicle.
Police said the 31-year-old truck driver was not seriously injured.
It was the second fatal road accident in the area in recent days.
