Hampshire’s game with Nottinghamshire at Newclose is the first they have played on the Isle of Wight in the County Championship for 57 years.
In case you were wondering, they played Worcestershire in a three-day match at the J Samuel White’s Ground in Cowes in 1962, which ended in a draw.
Roy Marshall (photo below) was out for 99 on the opening day, and team-mate and fellow Hampshire legend Derek Shackleton took nine wickets in the game.
Set a fourth-innings target of 291, Worcestershire were 192-8 when the match came to an end.
