School students overdose on prescription drugs in Southport

Four teenage girls have been hospitalised after a drug overdose on the Gold Coast.

Paramedics were called to Southport State High on Friday morning.

Authorities believe the girls had taken prescription medication.

The students were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
