A nine-year-old boy and 24-year-old woman are being airlifted to hospital after being attacked by a dingo on Fraser Island off south-east Queensland earlier this evening.
A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson said paramedics were called to the scene at Eurong on the eastern side of Fraser Island about 5:45pm, to treat the boy and woman for injuries to their arms and legs.
Both patients were reportedly bitten by the same dingo.
The young boy suffered “serious lacerations to his legs”, while the woman had “deep injuries” to her arms and legs.
Both patients were in a stable condition and being transported to hospital by rescue helicopter.
Last month, a six-year-old boy was bitten multiple times by a dingo at Eurong.
The boy was returning to his campsite from an afternoon swim with his family when he encountered a pack of four dingoes.
One of the animals attacked the boy, biting him on the leg.
In July 2017, a 25-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after being bitten on the arm by a dingo at Lake Mackenzie, near the centre of the island.
