Body found in Adelaide Parklands believed to be missing woman

Police are investigating an unexplained death after discovering the body of a woman in the Adelaide Parklands, believed to be that of missing woman, Georgia Wallace.

Police said they were called to the South Parklands in Adelaide, near the intersection of Peacock Road and Greenhill Road, just before 9:00am today.

A body was found by a woman who was walking her dog at the time.

The ABC understands the body was found in an area of the parklands between trees and nearby tennis courts.

Police said while a formal identification had not yet been conducted, it was believed to be the body of missing person Ms Wallace, 23, whose family has been notified.

Ms Wallace was last seen in Gilles Street, Adelaide, about 1:00pm on Saturday, December 29.

The area has been cordoned off while police, including forensic officers, examine the scene.

The cause of death is still unknown, with police to conduct further investigations into the death to determine if it is suspicious, self-inflicted or through natural causes.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
